Trace route is a graphical implementation of this well-known tool, so there is no need to explain its function nor purpose. After setting of target, maximum number of hops and timeout of particular nodes, the route tracing can be run by pressing the start button. First, the target is pinged and if the response is within the timeout, the route starts to be traced. Single hops with times are displayed in the bottom part of the window. A graph is being created too, presenting time needed to reach particular gateways (routers). Notice that masquerading gates behave usually as two single hops.
